Open House #1 – December 11, 2018
A public open house was held at Albert Lea city hall on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The open house was facilitated by staff from Freeborn County, the City of Albert Lea, and SRF. There was no formal presentation, however, there were three stations set up in the city council chambers that provided attendees with graphical information on 1) Roadway design concepts, 2) Streetscape concept drawings, and 3) Traffic analysis information. Attendees were asked to sign in and were provided comment sheets to record questions, concerns, and observations about the project. Attendees could deposit the comment sheets in a box at the open house, or they could mail their comments to Freeborn County.
Open House #2 – Tuesday, March 26, 2019
There were approximately 30 people in attendance at the March 26th Open House to learn more about the progress being made on the proposed Bridge Avenue improvements. Updated project drawings were displayed. A formal presentation included discussion of the proposed 3-lane roadway, upgraded utility pipes, roadway and sidewalk design at key intersections, and proposed streetscape improvements. The presentation was followed by a question and answer session. Project staff from the County, City, and SRF were available to discuss specific questions with Open House attendees.
Open House #3 – February 12, 2020
A public Open House has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 12 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Albert Lea City Hall, 221 East Clark Street. The Open House will include a presentation describing the proposed design of Bridge Avenue and an update on construction activities that will be starting soon. This project information will be included in a formal presentation that will begin at 5:00 p.m. The same presentation will be repeated at 6:00 p.m. Staff from Freeborn County, the City of Albert Lea, and the consultant’s engineering team will be available to answer questions.
